If you require shipping, it will be listed as a separate invoice item and charged separately from your auction win. We can ship anywhere in the world. However, if you purchase a mattress and want it shipped to Latvia, it will cost you. That being said, be aware of what you purchase during live bidding.

Why Was My Online Pre-Bid Ignored

A lot of online customers who leave pre-bid or proxy bids and do not win the item have been asking why their proxy bid was ignored and the item was sold for the exact amount they left a bid for.

The first thing we would like to say is that we did not ignore your proxy offer. The item was lost because of timing and bid increments.

Let's explain, suppose you leave an online proxy bid for $60. The auctioneer reaches the lot that your bid has been placed on. The auctioneer usually receives bids from the proxy first because it is faster than the live bidders. He takes the bid at $10 from your proxy. So far, so good, your proxy is $60, bidding is at $10. A live bidder on the floor or the internet bids $20. Now, because the auctioneer is still working in the increments of $10 he requests a $30 bid. The proxy system bids $30 on your behalf. Everything is great, your proxy is $60 you still have room. The auctioneer is now asking for $40 from live bidders. Someone bids $40, the auctioneer accepts it. Now the proxy system bids $50 on your behalf because your proxy is $60. The auctioneer accepts it. The auctioneer now requests a bid for $60. Hey, wait a minute, the auctioneer is asking for $60 isn’t your proxy bid exactly $60? It is. But because your proxy bid for $50 has already been taken, the system will not take another bid from you because that would be bidding against yourself. The auctioneer receives a $60 live offer from a live bidder. Your proxy is $60 and the proxy bid system stops, because you haven’t authorized the system to bid any higher. The auctioneer asks for $70, but no one else bids, so the auctioneer closes bidding at $60 and sells to the live bidder.

So you see it’s not that we are ignoring your bid. It’s just a matter of timing and bid increments that caused you to lose the item. In conclusion, proxy bidding is great and convenient. However, if you really want something, bid live online or be here to make sure you get it.
